International Sport News This Week

Last week, the UEFA Champions League re-start after the winter break and the 1st leg of 16 team knock-out round.

Arsenal have lost 0-1 away against PSV Eidhoven away, Liverpool win 1-2 against last year winner, Barcelona at Nou Camp, FC Porto draw 1-1 to Chelsea, Inter Milan draw 2-2 against Valencia FC, a goalless draw for AS Roma and Lyon, Manchester Utd have a goal advantage against Lille, Real Madrid win at home against Bayern Munich 3-2, and last but not least, Celtic earn a draw against AC Milan.

It is a good news for the player as the women tennis attract as much spectator as the men event and it can be a good incentive for them to win the Wimbledon Title this year. But to be fair, I think some men want the women to play 5 sets as they play more sets than usual in Tennis Grand Slam.

In other news, The Gunners announce an overall loss of £6.2million for the six months up to November 30, 2006.The Gunners, who this season moved from Highbury to the £390million Emirates Stadium, are citing one-off exceptional costs of £21.4million relating to their new ground as the reason behind the club not making a profit.
I think that the loss is okay at the moment and there will be the Highbury resident project that can cover all this and the merchandising will go up slightly as Arsenal have made deals with Colorado Rapids and can established the fan base in The States.
